Project Description
Euler Engineering was engaged to document the existing conditions of a two-storey residential house and separate guest house using laser scan data.
The objective was to develop an accurate as-built BIM model and drawing set that reflects real site conditions, replacing outdated or incomplete documentation. The model captures both interior and exterior architectural elements, along with surrounding site context.
Scope & Methodology
-
Processing and registration of point cloud data
-
Establishment of coordinated levels and grid systems
-
Scan-to-BIM modelling including:
-
Architectural floor plans
-
Reflected ceiling plans (RCPs)
-
Exterior elevations
-
Building sections
-
Modelling of:
-
Walls, doors, windows, and façade elements
-
Roof forms and ceiling systems
-
Major building components
-
Surrounding site context and adjacent building footprints
-
Alignment of all geometry with scanned conditions to ensure dimensional accuracy
-
Model development to LOD 300, suitable for documentation and coordination
Outcome & Value
-
Delivered a coordinated and reliable as-built BIM model
-
Provided accurate drawing sets derived directly from real site data
-
Eliminated inconsistencies commonly found in legacy 2D documentation
-
Supported renovation planning and consultant coordination
-
Reduced the need for repeat site verification
Key Benefit
By converting laser scan data into a structured LOD 300 BIM model, Euler Engineering provided a dependable digital representation of the property — enabling confident design decisions and streamlined future development works.
